Bio

Dr. Jaleh Benshian earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 2018, and has been working in the field since 2016. She also, has worked as an anchor woman, reporter and producer of news on variety of radio and TV programs since 2004. 

TV and Radio

Previously, she held a position at IPN, Andisheh, and Pars Television stations in Los Angeles. There, she was responsible for the production and broadcast of live programming. She also conducted live interviews and was also involved in making TV programs. In 2005, she started as a Radio hostess, anchorwoman and program writer at KRSI (Radio Sedaye Iran) based in Los Angeles. She is the creator, writer and performer of a well -known Radio program named Shahd-o-Shekar (Nectar and Sugar) which has a lot of fans all over the world.

She has been developing and organizing programming that covers latest Political, cultural, educational, social news and also matters that relate to topics in Psychology. She also has a particular strength in scientific topics due to her formal education in chemistry. 

As an Anchorwoman, she has also conducted live interviews with artists, actors, politicians, and successful entrepreneurs. Guests included James Woolsey (former CIA director), Mark Wallace (Former Ambassador of United states to United Nations, Jimmy Delshad (Beverly Hills mayor), General Counsel of Israel (Jacob Dyan) and actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (Oscar nominee) who are some of the prominent figures she has interviewed with.

Also, inspiring short emotional stories and poems are the focal point of Shahd o Shekar. Long stories in which she impersonates four to five different roles with different voices simultaneously are strongly favored by a lot of her fans. 

Currently, she is hosting her own Radio show Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 12-2 PM at Radio Hamrah.

 

Miss Iran

 

Among her other accomplishments, in 2005, Jaleh Benshian earned the title of Miss Iran and was sent to China to participate in Miss Asia pageant through the Miss Asia Pacific Quest organization. By earning this title, she brought honor to Iran and Iranian women and made them proud. By earning the title of Miss Iran, and because of her efforts, name of Iran has been registered in history of pageants in Asia and America. Earning the title of Miss Iran and what she experienced during the Miss Asia pageant was a turning point in her life.

 

Professional Studies

Jaleh has majored and earned a degree in Chemistry. Later on, she completed her studies in Psychology, and received her doctorate in 2018 and currently works as a Psychologist in a private practice.

 

 

Ballet

Despite all the barriers, Jaleh became involved with the study of Ballet and folk dance under Madam Lili Lazarian’s supervision when she was only 5 years old. With hard work, she mastered ballet and dance art and started teaching folk dances at the age of 16.
